Culture of the people or maybe not

A lot of the American people blame the government for everything that goes wrong and they are partly right, we have Republicans that some of us elected to the government, that campaigned on the fact that they hate the government. Now when you hire a plumber, do you hire a plumber that hates plumbing?  No! So the problem is not just with them, but who hired them. One of the real problems of the American government is that both Republicans and Democrats depend on the same powerful elite to get them elected and reelected.

The easy way people not the take blame yourselves is to blame just one man, for all that goes wrong or to credit them for what goes right, but if you look at the foreign policies for the last fifty years you will see little difference between Republicans and Democrats. Why is that? I suggest that it is because War Profiteers rule the pentagon, just look at the fact that the United States has found somebody to fight since World War two and even now have a military bigger than all the other nations militaries put together.

There is a big cry about the fact we use too much oil, but why is that? Back about a hundred years ago the United States had the greatest mass transit system in the world with both rail and light rail systems crisscrossing this great country of ours. The powerful elite discovered that oil could make them big profits if they could convince the American people that what they really wanted was oil burning Automobiles. There were other types of engines including electric, but that cut into their profits for not only buying oil, but there were fewer repairs on electric car than oil burning cars therefore less profits

There are many other industries that manage the American people like puppets to improve their profits, like what food you eat, what electronics to that you like, and many more. The point is that we need to redo our entire culture, support for international police force under the United Nations paid for by all nations, not just the American taxpayer, doing away with the need for each nation having their own military. Either rebuilding the American nation’s Mass transit systems and/or develop affordable electric cars.

The thing is we cannot be a nation of individuals, but we must finally form an American Society working together to help each other through rough times, together we can make a better America

Obama’s State of the Union 2013

Obama said that he wants to keep the largest military the world has ever seen, but cut Medicare and Social Security, Why? If the world wants a Global Police Force the every nation should pay for it, not just the American Tax payer. The trouble is that is the only part of the speech where he may get Republican votes. There is usually only about 50% of the American people who vote, there are many reasons for this, some are just too lazy and don’t care, some think it is a protest (a protest nobody notices), but many others don’t vote because they are not given anybody to vote for, when both parties take a similar positions of important issues.

There were many good parts of Obama’s speech too, most without detail like Congress passing the American Job Act, which the failed to do during Obama’s first term, Immigration Reform, Gun Control and tying the minimum wage to inflation, raising it now to $9.00 an hour. All these issues should be passed by Congress, but won’t unless the American people pressure their Congressperson and Senators to do so, make your protests heard by writing to your representatives and let them know how you feel about the issues that concern you.

Making Killing easy

Ever since humans got big heads they started trying to find easier ways to kill either animals or each other. First spears instead of clubs then spear throwers, then bows and arrows, then the crossbows and longbows.

There have been saner voices in the past; In 1139 Pope Innocent III and the second Lateran council outlaw the crossbow as a weapon causing unacceptable devastation, of course nobody listen with the crossbow being used until the invention of the musket around 1500. The musket was the weapon of choice until the mid 19th century when the rifle was invented just in time for the American Civil War. We invented automatic rifles and machineguns in time the First World War. We invented in the same time frame canons and bombs of all kinds including nuclear bombs that can wipeout whole cities with one bomb dropped from high in the air. We can now sit thousands of miles away eating popcorn while killing people we don’t like. We are even working on machines that will pick out who to kill, so they can’t be hacked into by the people we don’t like.

Today in the year 2013 we are still wrestling with the same question as in 1139, have we made killing too easy. We hope that someday the human race will evolve to the point where we can answer that question.
