50 years later Selma march Continues

In 1965 I was in the US Army at Fort Benning Georgia where they were suddenly giving us riot training and in March of that year they woke us up early in the morning and load us up on trucks with barbwire on the front of it. We never went anywhere, but I was always wondered what that was all about. Now I realize that it must have been the march on Selma.

Even with all the reforms that have happen since 1965 and the improvement in communications people seem more misinformed than ever. Civil right leaders of today are hated not only in the south, in the whole country.  People just asking for justice for  blacks are called all sort of names it can only be hoped that future generations will be more educated so has to change the culture of this and many other countries.

Obama's Selma speech was his best ever, if only people would listen. It should be replayed just before November 2016 so people who tend not to vote therefore giving their power away maybe will listen to him and vote.

Brian William’s War story

A lot of people especially Vets seen to be upset that he exaggerated his story to sound like the helicopter that he was in was hit by ground fire when it was the helicopter in front on him.  Now I don’t care if he was shot at or not, but it seem a lot who served do, but what I remember from my time in the service is that some soldiers were exaggerating even before they left the service. Now I am sure once they left they turned honest about their service.

If as Brain said they were flying in formation wasn’t the people on the ground shooting at all the helicopters, but just hit one so his story isn’t that far off. Why is such hate for a mere broadcaster? Maybe they are just needed a new person for their hate, the hate of the month.

Police facing dangerous persons

The police of Ferguson and Saint Louis on confronting black teenagers that they thought might be threatening to them, so they emptied the pistols into the black teenagers. It seems to me that they panicked which I might have done myself in that situation.  Unlike me the police are supposed to be trained to handle dangerous situations.  The officers in Saint Louis were said to have tasers that could have just stunned him and he would be alive. I guess the police are use to using their pistols and don’t trust their tasers.

The police culture seems to be them against blacks because black commit most of the petty crimes, but it’s always been that petty crimes are commit by the poor.  It is true that not all poor are black, a higher percentage of the blacks are poor than the whites if the police didn’t find it easier to pick on the blacks they would come after the poor whites and Hispanics.

So I think the answer is better equipped and trained police as well as better educated populous. This might mean higher taxes for everyone; it would be well worth it to live in a safe and free country again.

A Prince is born

A Prince is born

Today the great news was that a prince of the World of born and this is a great event because it gaves us continuity and a look to the future were the new born prince will be King long after we have passed away from this planetary plane and something we have known in our lifetime will continue into the future of mankind. We were once ruled by Lords and princes that told us how to live and had the power of life and death over us, but they needed us  to feed them, build their castles, and fight their wars, but in turn the cared for our welfare fore they knew they needed us.

Today our rulers don’t think they need us anymore that they can play us against each other or let machines do the work we use to do. They are wrong future generations will united the workers of the world (not just one country) their machines will need us to operated them, but we will be one people of the world. Now this may many generations after us, but rest assured we will win in the end and we will have our prince to lead us

My Father, JFK and the Workingclass

My Father loved JFK, more because he was an Irish Catholic who had made it. Unlike my Father raised in a Protestant Country (Scotland) Kennedy made my father’s life long suffering worthwhile, yet I saw Kennedy and another sell out to the enemies of the working class, that portended to be with us only to stab us in the back in the end as many Democrats do.  My Father like many others left the country he loved and he did love Scotland and even England if they were fighting a common enemy. After being discriminated against in job after job for being an Irish Catholic he took to the streets, he once said the his proudest moment was when he put a brick through a Orange party Base drum during the Orange parade in Glasgow.

Don’t get me wrong the Kennedy Family did a lot for this country working within a system that heavily favors the elite class over the working class, and Ted Kennedy did a lot the improve health care in this country, which makes me think that senator if worked right can be more powerful than a President.

I think the fight goes on, but not just for Irish Catholics, but for all workingclass people around the world, and yes it looks like an impossible dream, but so did a free Ireland.

The region was once called Huntington South. Nathaniel Conklin moved his family to the area, eventually calling it "New Babylon", naming it after the ancient town of Babylon around 1803. The town was officially formed in 1872 by a partition of the Town of Huntington.

Photos of Amityville Long Island NY taken in 2004 of the Park Ave Schools including the oldest Park North which I believe it was built around 1898 and once served as K to 12 for the Surrounding area as far away as Seaford. The other Park Ave schools added in 1932 and being modified here in 2004. The Merrick Road High School was built opened in 1952,
Amityville was settled around 1653, name changed from West Neck South to Amityville when incorporated on March 3 1894, at a meeting where the people were fighting over a name, when somebody called out Amity meaning let be friendly most people like the name Amityville (Friendly village) and they are still trying to live up to that name
